Self-Regulation Boxes

Read our latest, blog post. Still Life in Motion.

Project Description

Self-Regulation Boxes will be used to give students the tools that they need to calm down when they are upset. So many of our students are coming to school willing to lean. However, some of our students that are experiencing trauma at home (ex: divorce, death, substance abuse, physical or emotional abuse, poverty, neglect) have trouble leaning. Students experiencing traumatic events often have trouble controlling their emotions, problem solving and focusing on learning. Our teachers do their best to support every student based on their needs, however many students come from situations that are impeding their ability to learn. The self-regulations boxes will provide student with a safe way to process emotions and feelings.
